Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Wonderful drinks, tried the margarita flight. Wedge salad with shrimp was a very generous portion. Ate on the patio. Service was great."
"I would give it 5 stars, but we waited quite a while for anyone to check on us initally and it was relatively dead. Once we finally got a server, she was very nice. Put in our drink order, and it took 15 to 20 minutes to get my drink. The food came right after. The bartender was literally doing nothing and didn't bother to see if he had any drink orders to make. Our waitress did make rights. The food was good. Very nice helping of sweet potato fries. My husband liked his jerk chicken tacos that he got. However, we were both very unimpressed with some of the service."
"Wonderful service and delicious food. Our server was very attentive, knew the menu well, and gave great suggestions."
"We ate the Sunday Brunch and it was delicious. From the cheesy potatoes to the French toast everything offered was great. Our server, Courtney, was attentive and quick and very pleasant. I was pleased to see that she wasn’t the only one hustling. Tables were turned over quickly and drinks stayed full. The decor is welcoming and is a combination of sports bar and family restaurant. Booth or table seating are available. The stage is still there so I'm hoping to see live entertainment inside during the cold months and outside on the deck during the warm season. The bar is lit up a soft blue tone and full of all the nice bourbons that my husband prefers. My bloody Mary was ok. I loved the salted rim and the fixings but it could have been thicker. My husband ordered a smoked Old Fashion and loved it. Properly trained wait-staff equals excellent customer service. Customer service so important to me and it determines my decision in returning to any restaurant or buddies in general. I will return and will recommend everyone visit the SG. Owners- well done and thank you. Get a Toast account so that you can pay your bill from the table."
"Went here for a birthday dinner. The staff were exceptionally friendly and anything they were unsure of they checked on for us. I am gluten free and they made accommodations for me so I could have the meal I wanted. The food was delicious, service was great and it’s very clean and spacious. I know you don’t normally talk about bathrooms in a restaurant review, but they were very clean and provided hand cream and other things a lady might need. To top it off they brought out a free dessert for the birthday boy and sang to him. I would highly recommend this place."
"Had the jerk pulled pork. Heat built with every bite. Very flavorful pulled pork. Great with a light beer. Very friendly staff. Excellent service. Highly recommend"
"The Surf Museum recommended having lunch in the Surf Gallery. Interesting menu, nice atmosphere, an excellent waitstaff and comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. The chips and fries must be hand cut and fried to the perfet crispness. We commend this Clear Lake restaurant just steps away from the Surf Ballroom Museum. Note - nice bathroom. ."
"I had the Philly and it was really good. Not the best Philly but had its own twist. The service was great and what a perfect night to sit out on the deck."
